OATLAND MANSION AND GARDENS - 10:00 A.M. TO 3:00 P.M. - July 7th, 2011 - Sunday
A stately mansion, beautiful rolling farmland, exquisite gardens, a repository of more than 200 years of American history and culture – all of these can be found at Oatlands Historic House and Gardens near Leesburg, Virginia.
The mansion was built in the early 1800's and the exterior and interior lend themselves to capturing very beautiful architectural details. This venue is a perfect place for us to show you how to use wide angle lenses and portable non flash type lighting that you can carry anywhere, anytime.
Additionally the gardens are some of the most beautiful sculptured gardens I have had the pleasure to photograph. They are richly inhabited with standing statues, beautiful flowers and trees and pools.
As we move through our locations you will have great opportunities to learn proper use of your camera and lens controls in the creative process from your instructors.
You will be learning how to control light through the proper use of your camera and lens controls and how to modify existing light to control color, shadows and the overall look of your photographs. Bring all of that together with comprehensive work on composition and you will be growing your skills.
