Concepts, and A Basic Workflow
Every photographer needs a digital workflow. What is
a workflow? What are the basic elements of a
workflow? How complicated does my workflow need to
be? What is non-destructive editing? What is
metadata? Learn the answers to these questions and
begin to design your own workflow using Nikon
Capture NX2.
10:00 – 10:45 am Capturing the Image
Your workflow begins before you even press the
shutter button. Learn what settings on your Nikon
camera affect your workflow and how to make sure
that the decisions you make before you even take a
picture doesn’t mean hours in front of a computer.
10:45 - 11:00 am Break
11:00 am to noon Cataloging and Protecting the Image
Thousands and thousands of images but can you find
that one that you need right now! You can if you have
organized your images in a logical and consistent
manner. Learn how to quickly organize your images
and then find that one image you need fast using
Capture NX2.
noon - 1:30 pm Lunch
1:30 – 3:15 pm Developing the Image
While getting the best image you can out of your
camera is critical, no image is perfect out of the
camera. How do you fix images with bad exposure, a
colorcast, and other imperfections? What are global
adjustments and local adjustments? When do I
perform a global adjustment? Local adjustment? Learn
how to quickly develop images in Capture NX2 to get
the best possible image.
3:15 - 3:30 pm Break
3:30 - 4:30 pm Outputting the Image
After getting the best possible image in your camera
and fine-tuning it in Nikon Capture NX2, you will want
to show it off to your friends and family. Learn how to
put the final touches on your images, resize, apply
output sharpening, and print your image.
